Maui Parkshore Hotel - Kihei Hawaii
Two-bedroom condominium units across from the ocean Directly across the street from the ocean, this 64-unit, four-story, white-cinderblock building provides budget-minded vacationers with a central location in the town of Kihei on South Maui's Sun Coast. Shopping, dining, entertainment, and various beaches all lie within easy walking distance. Appropriately furnished island-style, guest units provide two bedrooms, a living room, a full kitchen equipped for cooking and dining, and a washer/dryer. The units are not air-conditioned, but are cooled with ceiling fans. Their lanais (patios or balconies) all provide ocean views partially obstructed by trees across the street. Set up for moderately priced living without resort amenities and activities, the Maui Parkshore provides only the basics: a pool with a modest sundeck, a shuffleboard court, and three barbecue grills—all next to the parking lot in front of the building on Kihei's main street.

AMENITIES & SERVICES
What to expect: Guests enjoy comfortable, spacious living units without much in the way of hotel amenities, aside from the pool, saunas, shuffleboard court, and barbecue grills. Maui Parkshore guests are on their own to enjoy the Sun Coast as they wish. Amenity highlights: The largest of three public-park beaches and the only one with off-street parking, Kamaole III, lies across the street from Maui Parkshore. Like all beaches in South Maui, it's uncrowded. There's good snorkeling among rocks and coral. Insider tip: Large, beautiful Keawakapu Beach begins in front of the Mana Kai Resort a few minutes' drive from Maui Parkshore. Next to the Mana Kai is a public parking lot. Signs point the way to the beach, which offers great snorkeling along its rocky northern terminus, terrific boogie boarding when the tradewinds blow, and long, tropical-fantasy walks. (Buildings along the beach seldom exceed palm-tree height, somewhat preserving the illusion the beachfront is undeveloped.)
The four-story, 64-unit Maui Parkshore offers guests the advantages of a large lanai (patio or balcony) facing the ocean across the street, a low rate, and a central location in Kihei near the town's best public-park beach, Kamaole III.
